1. Archeological Museum Father Le Paige and Town

Testimony of the past.

We will get to know, in this museum founded in 1963, a complete exhibition of the atacamenian’s cultural evolution from 15,000 BC on. Born thanks to the archeological investigations of Father Le Paige that treasures the results of excavations of more than 300 archeological places, 4,885 tombs and 51 ruins.

2. Pukara of Quitor

Histories of Struggle.

We will discover this national monument, declared as such in 1982, at 3 km. northeast from San Pedro of Atacama. A stone made construction of the pre Inca’s era that climbs a hill as a form or fortress. It dates back to the 12th century, result of the Aymara’s expansionism. It takes its name from the “Ayllu of Quitor”, an agrarian pre Hispanic grouping, whose fields are born at the foot of Pukara. From its base up to its highest point, measures 70 m.

3. Tambores Ravine.

Descent on bike or jeep through the Tambores Ravine, arriving to these extraordinary petrogliphics, made by the atacama culture.
